Frequently asked questions
Will it work on my engineer's ₹8,000 Android phone?
Yes. Rebaar is a PWA — runs in Chrome / any modern browser. We target Android 8+ and reasonably low-RAM devices. Photo compression and background upload handle patchy site connectivity.
What if the site has no internet?
Core read screens cache for offline access. Mutations (creating an RFI, logging progress) require connectivity by design — the audit trail is server-side. The PWA queues photo uploads when offline and pushes them when back online.
Can workers log their own attendance?
Worker self-attendance is available but typically the site supervisor enters group attendance (faster, no per-worker login). The system supports both modes.
How does material indent → issue work?
Site engineer raises an indent against a BOQ line (specifying quantity, urgency). PM approves. Store issues the material; inventory atomically decrements with the right WHERE clause so concurrent issues can't go negative. The BOQ line shows material consumed vs estimated.
Can the site supervisor be on a different phone than the PM?
Yes — every user has their own account with role-appropriate access. Supervisor sees their site only; PM sees all assigned projects; Owner sees everything. Mobile and desktop work side-by-side.
Does it support local languages?
English is fully wired. Hindi (`hi`) emails for welcome and salary slip exist. Tamil and Kannada fallback to English. We add translations as customers ask for them — getting Indic-language labour to use the app is a competitive moat.
How is the photo storage handled?
Photos go to S3 (or any S3-compatible store you configure). Each photo carries the project ID, uploader, timestamp, and optional geotag. They're served via signed URLs to prevent enumeration. You own the bucket.
